The 137th Commencement Ceremony for the Seattle Campus will be held Saturday, June 9, 2012 at CenturyLink Field (formerly Quest Field).

Students wishing to participate MUST register and order their tickets, apparel and parking passes online using the Graduation Registration/Order Form

For individual department/school graduation functions that require apparel or if you need parking passes, please use that same form.

Tax 101 workshops for U.S Resident Students

You've received your 1098T tax form! Are you confused about the information it contains? Student Fiscal Services offers workshops to help students understand the 1098T tax form, the American Opportunity and Lifetime Learning tax credits, and student account or scholarship issues in relation to taxes.

Tax 101 for Graduate and Professional Students

Representatives from Student Fiscal Services and the Law School's Federal Tax Clinic will discuss rules mandated by the IRS to report all scholarships, fellowships, grants, prizes, awards, and stipend money on the 1098T form. The class will focus mainly on U.S. Resident students and International students filing as residents for tax purposes. The workshop is tailored for graduate and professional students

Student Taxes for International Students

This session will focus on helping students understand the 1042S forms sent out by the UW Student Fiscal Services Office, and will also cover international student tax-related issues. Co-sponsored by the Office of International Students and Scholars.

Pay Tuition and Fees by Webcheck

Use Webcheck (electronic check payment) to pay all charges on your student account—it's fast, easy, secure and free. Your account will be credited immediately upon making your webcheck payment, and you will receive a receipt by email. To make a payment by webcheck, access your tuition statement on MyUW, and follow the prompts.

Refunds and Financial Aid Checks Automated

If you are not signed up for direct deposit, all refund or financial aid checks will be automatically mailed to your local address on file. Be sure to check your address information on MyUW and update it if necessary to avoid any postal delays. Aid checks may take up to 10 business days to reach you by mail; signing up for direct deposit is strongly encouraged to receive your funds quickly and safely.

Opt Out of 1098T Paper Form

Tax season is coming! Get ready by updating your account now! Want to save yourself some time and help the UW go green? Simply choose to receive your IRS Form 1098-T electronically instead of waiting to have it printed and delivered in the mail. Log on to your MyUW account and select the Electronic IRS Form 1098-T Consent option. Doing so will allow you and authorized parents or guardians, to access your tax forms from your MyUW account as soon as they are available. It's fast, it's easy, and it's GREEN!

Tuition Forfeiture Fees

If you plan to make changes to your academic schedule, be aware of potential changes to your tuition bill. Credits dropped after the 7th calendar day of the quarter may incur a tuition forfeiture fee. If possible, make your changes before the deadline to avoid extra charges.

Direct Deposit of Financial Aid

If you haven't already signed up for Direct Deposit, enroll online to have your funds automatically deposited into your bank account as soon as they become available.

Parent Loans

If you have been awarded a Parent PLUS Loan, your parent borrower must apply by submitting an online PLUS loan application on the StudentLoans.gov website. In addition to applying electronically, the parent borrower will receive the credit decision instantly, and will be able to complete an electronic promissory note (if needed) as part of the application process.
