On behalf of the Office of Minority Affairs & Diversity (OMA&D), it brings me great joy to wish Dr. Thaddeus Spratlen, Professor Emeritus for the Foster’s School of Business, a happy 90th birthday. Dr. Spratlen, is known as a trailblazer in academic business and a force at the University of Washington. Having made significant contributions on and off campus, he is renowned for his groundbreaking work for diversity and social justice in the business field. Dr. Spratlen’s achievements at UW include having several named scholarships, led diversity initiatives, mentored students and helped found Foster’s Consulting and Business Development Center. As we celebrate this milestone birthday, we also reflect on the brave steps taken by Dr. Spratlen to build a more just, equitable world. We in OMA&D salute you, Dr. Thaddeus Spratlen, and wish you and yours a joyous celebration for your 90th birthday.
