UW Giving Widget plugin

How to get the UW Giving Widget plugin

Using the shortcode to add a Giving Widget to your page

Step 1: Copy and paste the giving widget shortcode

Below is the shortcode you can use to display your Giving Widget. Copy and paste onto your desired page.

**Note: Copy all of the code, including the [ ] on either end.

Step 2: Get your Giving Widget code

Go to the Embed Online Giving Form to generate your Giving Widget code. In order to do this do the following:

  1. Click the Embed Online Giving Form link which will lead you to a page asking “1: Where will you embed your Online Giving Form?”. Put the link of your live page you want it to appear on in the text field.
  2. If the page isn’t registered yet you’ll be prompted to do so before moving on.
  3. Below the embed code that will be generated there is a field for optional settings. Fill out all of the necessary information in this section before moving on to the next step.

Step 3: Copy the Giving Widget object from the embed code

From the generated embed code, copy only the widget object. The widget object is the part starting with the first opening curly brace to the closing curly brace. For example:

Do not include anything that comes before or after the object, including var options =  or OGIFRAMEGEN.init(options); or any of the <script> tags. Including anything but the object will throw an error.

Make sure the embedURL exactly matches the URL of the page the widget will be on.

Step 4: Paste the widget into your page editor

Place the widget object between the opening and closing tags of the shortcode, replacing the ‘Giving Widget object here’ copy and save your page.
