Our new mapping tool, Concept3D, provides several ways for you to share a map or a map location with your website visitors.
Sharing or embedding a map
To share a map or embed a map on a website, following these instructions:
- Visit our map at map.uw.edu
- Create the exact view the of the map that you want to share or embed
For example, let’s create a view of the map that focuses on the Suzzallo Library

- Configure the map to your needs using the sidebar on the left of the screen. Options toggled on will be shown on the map you share or embed.
- Click the share icon in the top right of the toolbar.

- Choose your sharing option: you can share via social media or email, through a QR Code, a link, or an embed that can be copied and pasted onto a website
For example, you could copy the embed code and paste it into an HTML widget in WordPress to have a map embedded in the sidebar of your website.

Sharing or embedding a location
To share a location or embed a location on a website, following these instructions:
- Visit our map at map.uw.edu
- In the search bar on the top left, search for the building name you want to share or embed
For example, let’s search for the Suzzallo Library

- From the list of results, click on the building name you want to share or embed; the building information will appear in the sidebar on the left.

- Click the share icon above the building name in the sidebar.

- Choose your sharing option: you can share via social media or email, through a QR Code, a link, or an embed that can be copied and pasted onto a website
For example, if we wanted to link to the library, we would copy the link under the “Link to this location” heading: https://map.uw.edu/?id=2099#!m/975267?share
