The Women's Center, located in historic Cunningham Hall, promotes women's intellectual, creative and ethical development through democratic, transformative and community-based learning experiences. The Center is committed to promoting equity, dignity and respect for women of all cultural backgrounds. The Women's Center Re-entry Program offers free services to women who are considering returning to the University after a significant time away or who, for whatever the reason, feel they need additional support and advice in making the transition into his or her education.
The Re-entry Program offers support/referrals, helpful registration information, and assistance in locating scholarships and financial aid. The Women's Center is also home to the Imogen Cunningham Gallery which provides local women artists with the opportunity to show their work. Each quarter there is a new show in the Gallery and a new functional art exhibit. The Center offers a wide variety of low-cost, non-credit workshops and classes. A quarterly catalogue listing over 90 workshops is available by calling 685-1090. The Center has a cozy library filled with books on various subjects of interest to women. Center hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
