About ORIS

The Office of Research Information Services (ORIS) provides technical leadership for building and implementing the first stages of systems that will ultimately convert research administration at the UW from print to electronic and automated formats. It also provides training and support to all campus users of these systems.

The ORIS team has functional working relationships with C&C, Office of Sponsored Programs, Grant & Contract Accounting, Human Subjects Division, and the Office of Research. Partnerships with campus units, such as the SOMAS Team (School of Medicine Administrative Systems) and Academic Human Resources are formed on a regular and ongoing basis.

Advisory committees and working groups are utilized for planning, review and communication; similar to the USER model employed by the Grant and Contract Initiative.
