Hello Huskies,
It’s student government election season! Vote in the upcoming ASUW or GPSS elections to help decide who represents you on campus.
ASUW and GPSS are your associations. They represent your interests to the University by advocating for student needs, sponsoring events, and providing resources, services and programs.
- ASUW voting takes place April 20–23. You can get to know the candidates by following the ASUW Elections Administration Committee, and don’t forget to attend the ASUW Fair on April 17. This year, ASUW is also offering promos like ASUW merch, a $2.99 pizza combo at Husky Den, 25% off at the UW Bookstore and more. Visit the ASUW office or any EAC polling booth to collect.
- The GPSS Officer Elections meeting is April 29, and nominations must be filed by April 19. Follow GPSS on Instagram to learn more and view the elections guide.

Take the NSSE
Help the UW make the Husky Experience the best it can be: take the National Survey of Student Engagement! First-year students and seniors are invited to take the NSSE so we can assess what we’re doing well and where we can better help students succeed academically, professionally and personally.
The survey is open from April 7–May 11 and takes just 15 minutes to complete.

Learn to be a lifeguard
Learn how to be an American Red Cross-certified Lifeguard at the IMA! UW Recreation is offering a lifeguarding course on May 3, 9 and 10. Students who complete the class and its requirements will earn a two-year lifeguarding certificate (including deep water). Registration closes April 26 at 9 a.m.

Join the Body Project
Want to improve your relationship with your body? Join LiveWell’s The Body Project: a free peer group available for students, led by students!
Over 85% of young adults experience body dissatisfaction. The Body Project is designed to increase body acceptance and decrease body dissatisfaction by discussing appearance ideals and developing strategies to improve your relationship with your body. This quarter, LiveWell is offering a 4-week peer group or an adapted 1-day group. Visit the LiveWell website for more information and to sign up for a spot.

Celebrate Worker Memorial Day
Join Seattle Mayor Katie Wilson and the UW community on April 27 for Worker Memorial Day, honoring those who died in 2025 from a work-related cause in King County. The event, happening 12–12:45 p.m. at the Intellectual House, will raise awareness of how we can strengthen our commitment to job safety.

Learn how the UW handles federal law enforcement requests
Knowing what to expect at the UW can help you feel more prepared. The UW’s Division of Campus Community Safety put together a guide that explains what to do — and how the University will respond — if a federal official from Immigration & Customs Enforcement or another agency requests information or access to UW facilities. The guide includes a Q&A section and information about the limitations on federal immigration enforcement power, limits on state and local agencies from participating in immigration enforcement, and the rights of individuals and entities within Washington.
