Student Conduct Code and Policy

Chapter 210 Student Governance and Policies – Student Conduct Policy for Discriminatory and Sexual Harassment, Intimate Partner Violence, Sexual Misconduct, Stalking, and Retaliation prohibits discriminatory and sexual harassment, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, stalking, and retaliation against those who raise concerns. It also prohibits other forms of sexual misconduct, including sexual exploitation and indecent exposure,  It also prohibits committing or aiding assisting, and attempting the commission of these forms of prohibited conduct.  These are described in Section 7, Chapter 210. Chapter 210 also incorporates the University’s responsibilities under federal and state laws, including Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 and the Reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act of 2013.

For information about the University’s policies prohibiting sexual misconduct, including domestic violence, relationship violence, sexual assault, and stalking, and also for information about prevention and response.

Executive Order 31: Non-Discrimination and Non-Retaliation
Prohibits discrimination based on sex, including sexual harassment, and sexual misconduct is a form of sexual harassment under EO 31.  This policy also prohibits retaliation against any individual who reports concerns regarding discrimination or harassment, or who cooperates with or participates in any investigation of allegations of discrimination, harassment or retaliation.

UW Policy and Procedure on Violence in the Workplace
The University of Washington is committed to providing a safe, healthful workplace that is free from violence or threats of violence. Violence in the workplace includes relationship violence that intrudes into the workplace, endangering a person in the relationship or others in the workplace. This policy applies to all University work locations including offices, classrooms, work sites, vehicles and field locations.
