Student move-in days are a yearly event at the University of Washington, generating excitement among families and fueled by student volunteers. About 10,000 UW students are expected to settle into the residence halls this week, with classes beginning next Wednesday, Sept. 29. High demand for housing this year prompted the renovation of Haggett Hall to create more space.

This quarter marks the return to mostly in-person instruction at the UW after more than a year of remote learning. UW is requiring that students be vaccinated and wear masks in class. The university also requires vaccination of all faculty and staff.

UW is continuing a robust COVID-19 testing program, asking students to enroll in the Husky Coronavirus Testing program and providing self-administered testing kits to campus housing residents upon arrival.
