UW web themes and templates

The University of Washington offers several web themes and templates to support consistent, accessible, and branded digital experiences. Below is an overview of the available themes and how to access them, along with helpful resources and guidance.

UW WordPress theme

The UW WordPress theme is the standard theme used across many UW websites. How you access it depends on your hosting environment:

  • UMAC hosting: If your site is hosted by UMAC, the UW WordPress Theme is already installed—no action is needed.
  • sites.uw.edu: If your site is hosted on the sites.uw.edu network, you may need to activate the theme. To do this, go to the Appearance menu in your WordPress dashboard and select Themes.
  • Other hosting providers: If your site is hosted elsewhere, you will likely need to download and install the theme manually. Please note that our team cannot assist with installation. You can download the theme from our GitHub.
