This article describes how SAGE users obtain authorization for using the SAGE system.
Access to SAGE requires authentication and authorization.
Authentication is provided through your UW NetID. It confirms that a unique person is logging in with a valid password. See Accounts and Passwords for more information.
Authorization is provided through Access to Systems, Tools, Resources and Applications (ASTRA) which is a system that stores information about who can use a wide variety of administrative applications and tools across the UW campus.
Unit administrators use ASTRA to grant authorization, with an appropriate role, for using SAGE. Users who need access should contact their department administrator, or if this is not possible, their Dean's office administrator.
