Making Connections is a comprehensive college-readiness program that provides four years of personalized, life-changing academic and enrichment services to underserved students and their families in the greater Puget Sound area. We do this through the following programs and services:
Tutoring and academic advising
On-site tutoring in math, chemistry, biology, history, physics and writing is offered during the week, and students receive one-on-one academic advising from MC staff.
Mentoring
Students are matched with a college student or professional who shares their educational or career interests and meets with them monthly.
Summer Bridge
Summer Bridge introduces incoming high school students to STEM careers and encourages them to plan their high school studies with college in mind.
Career Exploration
Students attend conferences and visit places such as UW Medicine, Google, Microsoft and more to connect with professionals working in STEAM fields and industries.
