Supporting students with disabilities

In addition to providing assistance and support to current UW students, Disability Resources for Students serves as a key resource and collaborator to UW faculty and staff to ensure the University fulfills its legal requirements related to accessibility by establishing and facilitating reasonable academic accommodations.

Services for faculty include (but are not limited to):

  • Assistance with establishing classroom accommodations
  • Assistance with accessible course materials
  • Facilitation of testing accommodations, including testing centers
  • Academic skills reference sheet to help students manage common issues
  • Educational resources

If you have questions, run into problems or don’t know where to start, DRS can provide the resources you need to help you comply with the law, integrate accommodations and accessible materials, and most importantly, provide the support your students need so they can fully engage in your class.
