Winter Resources & Opportunities (Volume 3) Husky Pawket Guide

HUSKY PAWKET GUIDE

FROM THE DESK OF DR. DENZIL SUITE
UW DIVISION OF STUDENT LIFE

Hello Huskies,

The Big Dark is officially over, but it may still be dark out when you’re traveling to and from campus. If you’d like an escort, the UW has two options: Husky SafeTrip and NightRide.

  • Board the NightRide shuttle from any one of eight on-campus stops and be dropped off at any location within the two shuttle zones. Shuttles run from 8 p.m. until around 1:30 a.m. Monday-Friday.
  • Get a safe ride with Husky SafeTrip, a vehicle escort with a uniformed security guard. SafeTrip operates within a designated service area daily from 6:30 p.m. – 2 a.m.

Good luck with your midterms, and enjoy the lighter days ahead.

Sincerely,

Denzil

What’s in your emergency kit?

You never think you’ll need an emergency kit… until you really do. Power outage? Earthquake? Having a few basics on hand can make a stressful situation a whole lot easier. Grab some water, snacks, a flashlight, phone charger, meds and anything else you might need to get through a few days and stash them in one spot. Future you will thank you for preparing.

Visit the Emergency Management website to learn more about emergency kits.

QUIZ ANSWER

False! The Romans, not the Greeks, believed even numbers were unlucky. They chose February, the month that hosted their rituals honoring the dead, to have an “unlucky” 28 days.
