HUSKY PAWKET GUIDE
FROM THE DESK OF DR. DENZIL SUITE
UW DIVISION OF STUDENT LIFE
Hello Huskies,
Welcome back! I hope you had a relaxing couple of days off and are feeling ready to tackle the last weeks of the quarter.
UW Libraries has put together some tips for success to help you prepare for finals. If you could use some help with accountability, the Counseling Center is leading a virtual co-working session tomorrow from 2:30-4:30 p.m.
Remember that while it’s important to study, it’s equally important to take breaks! I encourage you to stop by Fuel for Finals tomorrow for some snacks to fuel your studies. You can also join the Counseling Center’s guided relaxation, join a free class at the IMA (more on that below) and find support at LiveWell’s Stick With It, Stick Together event.
Best of luck on your finals and have a wonderful Winter Break.
Sincerely,
Denzil

Campus Safety
UW Alert test in January
The UW will test the UW Alert system on Jan. 22 at 1:22 p.m. to highlight how you’d be informed (and what to do) in the event of an active shooter attack on campus. The test will include a UW Alert message sent via text and email as well as a test of the UW’s outdoor alert system (the blue towers located around campus). The test will not include any simulations – no gunshots, sirens or simulated victims.
The test is an important step in being ready for something we hope never happens. Visit the UW Emergency Management website to learn more about the drill and what to do during an active shooter attack.
QUIZ ANSWER
3) 7-9 hours! In a 2024 LiveWell survey, 76 percent of Huskies reported getting 7-9 hours of sleep on weeknights. Sleep is critical for your health and academic performance, so it’s especially important to get your Zzzzs during finals! Visit the LiveWell website for info and sleep strategies.
