A lead artist will be hired for each of the three North Link Sound Transit Stations — Brooklyn (U District), Roosevelt and Northgate, and those chosen will work with architects and engineers to produce works of art. Open houses are slated for the Roosevelt and Brooklyn stations.

A new era for transportation at the UW began Monday,May 16, with the official launching — amid speeches, smiles and blustery weather — of the two tunnel-boring machines that will carve out a new light rail link from the UW to Capitol Hill.

The off-ramp from eastbound State Route 520 to Montlake Boulevard will close during the early morning hours Saturday, April 9, and Monday, April 11, so crews can deliver and remove equipment for geotechnical drilling work.

Sound Transits contractor is continuing to drill holes along the proposed light rail alignment from the UW to Northgate to evaluate soil and groundwater conditions. To minimize its impact, the drilling on campus has been scheduled during spring break.
