The new AccessADVANCE will hold its inaugural Capacity Building Institute (CBI) on May 25 and 27. The CBI is titled Increasing the Participation of Women with Disabilities in Academic STEM Careers. At the event, AccessADVANCE staff and participants will share challenges and solutions regarding the recruitment and participation of women with disabilities in ADVANCE activities and academic STEM careers, and will identify ways that we can all work together to increase the participation and advancement of women with disabilities in academic STEM careers.

AccessADVANCE works to increase the participation and advancement of individuals who identify as women with disabilities in academic science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) careers. AccessADVANCE works to increase knowledge and understanding of the issues related to this understudied and often marginalized group, in order to identify effective interventions with the potential to systematically address issues impacting the career advancement and success of women faculty with disabilities.
