UW ranks seventh in study abroad: The UW is seventh in the nation among doctoral institutions in how many students it sends on study abroad programs. The UW is also ranked fourth in the nation in the number of students who participate in long term study abroad programs (a full academic year).
Gold medal for genetic engineering team: A UW team of five undergraduates, four graduate student advisors and one faculty member, received a gold medal for its work, most of which occurred in UW laboratories throughout the summer.
