UWTV Prepares for a Future Snowy Day

Satellite Ever wonder about the large satellite dish perched atop Kane Hall? UWTV recently installed a de-icing device to keep the satellite signal strong when snow falls, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the university’s communication infrastructure on campus and beyond. The Aerospace Engineering Research Building dish kept UWTV up and running during installation.

UWTV to Revamp Online Video Publishing Management


Videos UWTV engineers are working with national and international vendors, consultants, and UW Information Technology to bring next-generation online video managing and publishing to UW. Once its video library of 2,000 media objects is migrated, UWTV will schedule information sessions for departments with extensive video holdings looking for robust online solutions.

UW Students Take Second Place in Accessibility at Imagine Cup in Poland July 8

Imagine UW iSchool graduate students Shaun Kane and Kristen Shinohara took second place in the Imagine Cup international software competition for their application for visually impaired students to collaborate via Touch and Tablet PCs. The award is for creating a new education application that expands the possibilities for interacting with the computer. Read more.
