Public Meeting to Discuss the Transitioning of the College of Forest Resources into the College of the Environment
As part of the process for reviewing the reorganization, elimination, or consolidation of academic programs (RCEP, Ch. 26 of the Faculty Code) at the University of Washington, a public meeting will be held to receive comments from any interested individual on the proposal to transition the College of Forest Resources into the College of the Environment. This meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 21 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Petersen Room of Allen Library. Each individual will be allotted three minutes to meet with the committee, and the submission of written statements to supplement any comments is encouraged and would be helpful to the committee. The committee will meet with one person at a time, and individuals will be seen on a “first come, first served” basis.
Detailed information on the proposal is on the Faculty Senate Web site, “Issues Under Consideration”. If you are unable to attend this meeting but would like to submit comments, please send them electronically to senate@u.washington.edu no later than Wednesday, April 22.
Board of Regents
The regular meeting of the Board of Regents, scheduled for Thursday, April 16, has been canceled. A special meeting will be held instead, on Thursday, April 16.
Memory and Aging Research
Are you an older adult and interested in your memory? Are you concerned about a family member’s or a friend’s memory? The Somatotrophics, Memory and Aging Research Trial (SMART) at the University of Washington seeks healthy men and women aged 55 to 90, with either normal memory or with memory problems, for a study of how an experimental drug that increases the body’s natural secretion of Growth Hormone may improve memory.
