Host an International Student This Fall
Are you curious about the rest of the world? Want to share your UW experience with a new student or scholar from across the globe? More than 1,400 new international students will join the UW community this fall, so consider becoming a FIUTS host and open your home to a new international friend!  FIUTS offers a unique program that connects UW students and scholars with volunteer host families in the area for short-term homestays.

Hosting a new international student through FIUTS is a wonderful way to make a new friend, practice your language skills, and introduce your family and friends to another culture. It's only about a week, and students are generally busy on campus and with orientation during the day. Students are graduates and undergrads, scholars and short-term exchange participants and represent more than 100 countries and every possible UW department. Hosts represent the diversity of our region; they are families with or without children, single individuals, groups of friends or retired couples. Learn more about hosting at www.fiuts.org

FIUTS Community BBQ
The FIUTS Community BBQ is the biggest FIUTS event of the year. More than 500 people are expected to join us on Friday, Sept. 17 at Gas Works Park to welcome the more than 1,400 new international students and celebrate the start of a new academic year. For more information about the barbecue, contact Alison Kilkenny.
