Full-time faculty from all tracks encouraged to apply by March 9
The greatest strength of the University of Washington is the people who create our unique take on the academic mission. Elevating diverse perspectives from different vantage points in the University is key to our continued excellence.
To provide a pathway for integrating those perspectives into institution-wide projects, I am pleased to announce the launch of the Provost’s Academy, an immersive program designed to recognize and engage emerging faculty leaders throughout the University. The Provost’s Academy will provide a dynamic experience that blends experiential learning, collaborative projects, and networking and mentorship to foster both personal and professional growth for participants and advancement of our academic mission. Through direct collaboration within one of the main functional areas of the Office of the Provost, participants will have the opportunity to advance meaningful, positive change in the University. Specifically, Provost’s Academy participants will:
- Gain insights, through direct participation in a project, into one of the major functional areas of the Office of the Provost, each led by a Vice Provost or Senior Vice President:
- Academic Strategy & Affairs (Vice Provost Phil Reid)
- Academic Personnel (Vice Provost Frederick Nafukho)
- Artificial Intelligence (Vice Provost Noah Smith)
- Continuum College (Vice Provost Rovy Branon)
- Enrollment Management (Vice Provost Danny Barrow)
- Finance, Planning & Budgeting (Senior Vice President Jason Campbell)
- Global Affairs (Vice Provost Ahmad Ezzeddine)
- Innovation/CoMotion (Vice Provost Francois Baneyx)
- Research (Vice Provost Mari Ostendorf)
- Undergraduate Academic Affairs (Vice Provost and Dean Ed Taylor)
- Engage in strategic thinking and planning alongside senior UW leaders
- Develop a deeper understanding of the issues that affect the administration of UW programs and initiatives and their interconnectivity
