From the UWAA President
This past year as gone by fast. From a comeback football season with viewing parties nationwide, to an exciting men's basketball season that stretched all the way into March Madness, to a spring full of happy hours and now Husky Summer Celebration events, there are a lot of great things happening in the Husky Global Network! Many hands make light work, and thanks to your hands, motivation and dedication we accomplished a lot last year, even in these tough economic times. So thank you for helping us maintain the high quality (and enthusiasm!) our programs and events are known for. I trust that you will continue to volunteer with us to help keep UW connections strong long after graduation. After all, once a Husky, always a Husky! In other news: As you know, last August the UWAA moved to the UW Tower (the former Safeco Bldg.) located at 4333 Brooklyn Ave. NE. Much as we loved the old Alumni House, the building was definitely showing its age and in need of repair. Moving to the UW Tower puts us in office space that is current with the times and allows us to soon have a brand-new space that's welcoming to all alums. Zimmer Gunsul Frasca Architects have drawn up the plans and construction is now in the early stages of a new 4,000-square-foot project that will be our new home in Alumni Commons. We'll keep you posted on the progress. Thank you for your continued dedication to our geographic programs. Have a great summer! Sincerely,
E.M. "Eddie" Pasatiempo, '77 July 2010 | Return to issue home |
