Welcome to your new Husky home
Whether your student is moving in this September or moving out at the end of the year, this page connects you and your Husky to the housing, dining, and family-side resources you need.
Our Housing & Food Services has a dedicated Student Services Office (SSO) to help answer any questions that you and your Husky have about housing, dining plans, and more. They can be reached by email (hfsinfo@uw.edu) or phone (206-543-4059), or visit them in person weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Lander Hall.
In addition to the SSO, each residence hall has a Resident Adviser (RA) on duty at night who can provide immediate help and guidance for your Husky when the front desks are not staffed. They can be reached by phone at 206-543-1000. Encourage your student to save this number on their phone.
Save the dates: Move-In Week is Sept. 22 to 25, 2026
PFP hosts the Move-In Family Lounge on campus during Move-In Week. Think of it as orientation part three for families, the universal in-person moment where UW families meet other UW families while your student is moving in. Details on the Welcoming UW Families page.
Visiting Seattle this summer? Our Summer in Seattle visiting guide has day-trip ideas, hotel partners, and the Seafair-and-Family-Orientation overlap.
