In this video, we see the University of Washington Rorrer Lab where Julie Rorrer, assistant professor of chemical engineering, is teaching students to explore ways to transform plastics into useful chemicals. These chemicals could be used to make new plastic or for other purposes like fuel.

The lab aims to advance the field of renewable and sustainable chemical production, shifting away from fossil fuel consumption and mitigating the detrimental environmental effects of waste plastics.
