Welts is one of the most-respected business executives in the NBA. At 66, he has over 40 years of experience in the league and owns the rare distinction of being a part of championship teams in the NBA (4), WNBA (2) and NBA G League (1). In his role, Welts oversees all business-related operations for the Warriors, including guiding the development of Chase Center, a $1 billion-plus privately financed sports and entertainment center in San Francisco’s Mission Bay neighborhood set to open this September.

The commencement ceremony will be streamed live on UWTV starting at 12:30 p.m.

Degrees are awarded to those who have completed academic requirements during the 2018-2019 academic year.

Members of the Board of Regents, deans and other representatives of the university’s 16 colleges and schools will participate in the ceremony. Many colleges and schools also have separate graduation programs and investiture ceremonies.

UW Bothell will celebrate its 28th commencement at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 16, at T-Mobile Park. Seattle City Council member Bruce Harrell, ’80 and ’84, will be the keynote speaker. More than 2,200 degrees will be awarded, the largest class ever for UW Bothell.

The graduating class this year includes the first cohorts graduating with new degrees offered at UW Tacoma: B.A. Environmental Sustainability and B.S. Electrical Engineering.
