The UW will kick off its 2010 Combined Fund Drive, the state’s workplace giving campaign, with a Charity Fair from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 13, in the Mary Gates Commons.
About 70 charities will be present at the event. It’s great opportunity to meet the people involved with the charities one-on-one and learn about their programs and volunteer opportunities.
There will also be a coin drive to benefit the Make A Wish Foundation of Alaska, Montana, Northern Idaho & Washington — look for the jars to donate spare change. To add to the festivities, there will be a chance to win door prizes and sample treats.
