‘Journalism on the Brink?’: UW, online journalists host panel Feb. 25

The Seattle chapter of the Online News Association and the UW Department of Communication will host a panel discussion, “Journalism on the Brink? Can Digital Save It?” The discussion will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, in 220 Kane.



David Domke, acting chair of the UW Department of Communication, will host the event, which will be moderated by Hanson Hosein, director of the UW’s master of communication in digital media program.


Panel members are:


* Cory Bergman of MSNBC, contributor to LostRemote.com and creator of MyBallard.com;

* Ross Reynolds, host of KUOW’s “The Conversation”;

* Monica Guzman, online reporter for the Seattle P-I and enthusiastic user of social media;

* John Cook, one of the founders of TechFlash, an online publication covering the region’s technology community;

* Cory Tolbert Haik, director of content for SeattleTimes.com and member of the ONA Board of Directors.
