A core goal of the Hazing Prevention and Response Program is meeting students where they’re at to encourage healthy behaviors and awareness of hazing. In 2026, that means reaching students through channels of communication most engaging and accessible to them, including social media.
At the start of 2026, the Hazing Prevention and Response Program launched an Instagram account and began sharing education with students. So far, Instagram posts have explained what hazing is and what it might look like, raised awareness about ways to report hazing, and dispelled common misconceptions about hazing. Upcoming resources will also include posts breaking down more nuanced hazing topics and practical tips for students about being proactive about hazing, video walkthroughs explaining how to make a hazing report, and content geared towards parents and families.
As the university heads into a new academic year, the Hazing Prevention and Response Program is eager to connect with more members of the campus community through an engaging social media presence.
