Virtual Seat
Family members and friends who are not able to attend Commencement in person can still join the Commencement ceremony with Husky families from around the world via the magic of Virtual Seat! Last year moms, dads and grandparents in Cairo, Egypt, …. and dozens of other cities saw their sons, daughters and grandchildren celebrate one of the most memorable days of their lives – and 50,000 graduates and guests in the stadium saw them too! And if you’re a graduate who can’t make it to the stadium you’re welcome to join your classmates via Virtual Seat as well!
Virtual Seat is a simple tool that allows one or more people in the same room in front of the same computer, laptop or smartphone camera to join the celebration in the stadium as a group using a single Virtual Seat. By sharing your camera feed, the crowd in Husky Stadium will see you waving, clapping and cheering on the video boards! It’s an unforgettable experience!
Graduates will be offered the opportunity to sign up for Virtual Seat when they fill out the Commencement Registration/Order form. They will be asked to provide the name and email of the person who will be in charge of each Virtual Seat group so they can be contacted with instructions. Seats are limited but we will accommodate as many guests as possible.
Live Streaming
UWTV will live stream the ceremony. The link will be on our main Commencement home page beginning June 12. Viewers will be able to access both closed captioning and translation services on the stream.
