Faculty Participants
All faculty are invited to participate in the commencement ceremony. As official witnesses to the conferring of degrees faculty play a vital role in the success of the ceremony. Faculty may participate either as members of the academic procession or as marshals involved in directing graduates during the ceremony.
Academic Procession
Faculty in the academic procession are the first to enter the stadium. They are seated on stage for the duration of the ceremony. Seating is limited, so please confirm via the RSVP/regalia order form (by May 12) to secure your seat. Regalia is free for faculty participating in the ceremony.
Become a Marshal
Marshals are involved in every aspect of the Commencement process, from the opening procession and seating of candidates to the concluding recessional. Their participation is critical to the ceremony’s success. As you many know, this year we have two graduation ceremonies, and we need marshals for both! There are two basic marshal roles. Commencement Marshals direct graduates and members of the stage party during the ceremony. College Marshals lead the bachelor’s degree candidates from the various schools and colleges during the procession. If you are interested in becoming a marshal, please complete the RSVP/regalia order form (by May 12) and indicate the role you would like to fill.
