‘Pivotal Tuesdays’ lecture series begins Oct. 9

Professor Margaret O’Mara will explore crucial 20th century American presidential races in a series of four lectures called “Pivotal Tuesdays: Four Presidential Elections That Made History.” The lectures, the latest in a long-running UW History Lecture Series, begin Oct. 9. More information can be found here. Tickets are $10, $5 for students.

UW ranked 8th nationally

Washington Monthly, which ranks universities based upon social mobility, research production and commitment to service, has ranked the University of Washington eighth among national universities for 2012. Read the full story here.

PACCAR Hall earns LEED certification

The newest LEED-certified building on the UW campus just gained its certification. PACCAR Hall, the first of a multi-phase project, was designed to connect community space with academic programs to reflect the school’s collaborative culture and encourage students, staff and faculty to engage with the rest of the university’s campus.
