The UW broke ground on a campus Native American long-house style facility last week. Wǝɫǝbʔaltxʷ, pronounced “wah-sheb-altuh” and known as the Lushootseed language name for “Intellectual House,” will serve as a learning and gathering place for Native American students, faculty and staff, as well as the UW and surrounding community. UW Veterans Appreciation Week
The UW will host a series of events next week honoring UW alumni, students, faculty, staff and community members who have served in the U.S. armed forces. Events kick-off Nov. 5 with a reception in the HUB for alumni and student veterans and will culminate on Nov. 11 with the Veterans Day celebration and ceremony at the Medal of Honor Memorial.
