Latinx Faculty & Staff Association

The University of Washington (UW) Latinx Faculty and Staff Association (LFSA) is an advocacy, leadership development and social network that addresses Latinx issues in higher education, including the educational concerns and advancement of the UW Latinx community.

Our priorities include:

  • Highlighting scholarship produced about Latinx communities; spotlighting the contributions of Latinx staff;
  • Creating a community and a support network that nurtures Latinx as a visible and viable part of the UW environment and leadership;
  • Enhancing knowledge of Latinx educational contributions related to Latinx communities;
  • Promoting social and cultural activities that relate to Latinx communities on and off-campus.

The power of LFSA relies on the active and intentional participation of all members who self-identify as Latinx and who work at University of Washington.

LFSA uses “Latinx” to recognize our intersectionality as a community spanning borders, genders, race, and other identities. We recognize the unique cultures and experiences of our community and join in solidarity for the advancement of all our members.

LFSA welcomes and includes all people regardless of race, socioeconomic class, color, national origin, religion, diverse perspectives, age, sex, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, neurological or physical ability, veteran status, legal status, or education level.

The Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity (OMA&D) and UW Human Resources (UWHR) partner to support employee affinity groups at the University of Washington. Affinity groups are open to all UW employees.
