Alaska Airlines Partnership

A partnership in new horizons

Alaska Airlines is a steadfast partner in the University of Washington’s mission to serve Washington — and the world. Together, we share values around education, leadership, diversity and philanthropy for the greater good.

As two world-class organizations with roots in Seattle, our Puget Sound partnership powers the economic engine of our state. From Tacoma to Bothell, the Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion and all around the Pacific Northwest, Alaska is helping students unleash possibilities — and potential.

Our partnership transforms the lives of students and all of the people we serve.

Building leaders

Alaska Airlines is the perfect partner to help enhance the student experience and solve real-world issues. The company is integral in supporting the Foster School’s annual Environmental Innovation Challenge and iSchool students have taken on current Alaska Airlines challenges in capstone projects.

Expanding education

As a Husky Signature Employer, Alaska Airlines hires Huskies and sponsors the Career & Internship Center in Mary Gates Hall. The company also supports Community|Connection|Career at UW Bothell, the Veteran & Military Resource Center at UW Tacoma, and will fund UW Medicine’s simulation training center, the Alaska Airlines Virtual OR (WISH Institute), which parallels training that Alaska Airlines’ pilots receive as they hone expertise.

Celebrating diversity

As a proud Platinum Partner of the Office of Minority Affairs and Diversity’s annual celebration, Alaska Airlines connects its commitment to equity with its philanthropic vision, funding 10 Educational Opportunity Program scholarships for promising students.
