UWPD's Love Your Stuff Helps Prevent Theft
Do you love your stuff? Your bike, your laptop, your phone - you don't want to lose them, do you? Of course you don't. "Love your stuff?" is a new crime prevention campaign from the UW Police Department (with help from UW Transportation Services). With posters, flyers, and screen displays depicting people demonstrating affection for their belongings, the campaign aims to remind our community to keep its treasured possessions safe, secure, and out of sight from potential thieves.

Most crimes on campus are thefts, and two-thirds of thefts from buildings are of items left unattended or improperly secured. If you head down the hall to talk to a colleague or use the restroom, be sure to lock your office door. We need the help of everyone who loves their stuff to get the UW's theft numbers down.

Check out the UWPD's Love Your Stuff webpage where visitors are given the online tools to register their bicycles and electronics as well as the opportunity to learn more about crime prevention.
