Required for all UW employees and volunteers

Provides an overview of EO 56 Reporting Suspected Child Abuse or Neglect, including definitions of child abuse and how to make a report.

Required for all UW youth program authorized personnel

Provides information to UW employees and volunteers who interact with youth on topics of safe communication, physical contact, and supervision.

Youth Protection for Youth Program Leaders two-part series

Required for all new youth program directors (effective July 1, 2023)

Youth program leaders in your role prior to July 1, 2023 are welcome to take parts one and two at any time. 

Part one: asynchronous online course

Must be completed within 90 days from starting as a program director

This course will introduce new program leaders to University youth protection requirements, roles and responsibilities for meeting requirements, best practices, and resources available to support you in your role.

Youth Protection for Youth Program Leaders course Pt. 1

Part two: synchronous course (Zoom)

Must be completed after taking part 1, within 12 months from starting as a program director

This synchronous course will provide you with an opportunity to dive deeper into implementation of University requirements with other youth program leaders, and includes interactive Q&A, case studies, and small group discussion.
