Winter quarter seminar series focuses on data science methodologies in population health

Students listening to a seminarThe University of Washington Population Health Initiative and the eScience Institute are offering a two-part seminar series, “Pop Health Data Science,” during winter quarter 2023.

This series will explore the application of data science methodologies to address pressing challenges to population health.

The two seminars for this quarter are:

  • Thursday, January 26, 2023: Ali H. Mokdad, UW Chief Strategy Officer for Population Health and Professor of Health Metrics Sciences, Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation Register to Attend
  • Thursday, February 2, 2023: Helen Chu, UW Associate Professor of Medicine (Allergy and Infectious Diseases Register to Attend

The seminars will be held from 4 – 5 p.m. in the Hans Rosling Center for Population Health (Room 101) and will be followed by a casual networking reception. Advance registration is required.

Faculty, students and researchers across multiple disciplines and skill levels are welcome to attend. We anticipate presentations will include some technical details, but will be described in an approachable manner suitable for broad audiences.
