Breathing highway air increases blood pressure, UW research finds
A new study from the UW found that unfiltered air from rush-hour traffic significantly increased passengers’ blood pressure, both while in the car and up to 24 hours later.

When the “big one” hits, within minutes of the shaking a wall of water reaching 40 feet tall will inundate the coastline. Researchers from the UW are working with coastal communities on efforts to prepare. That includes collaborating with students in the Ocosta School District's drone club to map tsunami evacuation routes to a 53-foot-high vertical evacuation tower, the first such structure built in the U.S.
