Expertise: Marine mammal migration, distribution, and habitat use from studies using underwater sound recordings (passive acoustic monitoring); effects of noise on whales; large whale conservation biology and stable isotope ecology; expertise includes North Pacific right whale, humpback whale, and bowhead whale.

Dana Wright is a conservation biologist with expertise in whales that inhabit Alaskan waters. Her research uses field and laboratory techniques to study population dynamics, spatial ecology, and physiology of marine mammals under changing environmental conditions. She works at the intersection of marine ecology, conservation biology, and statistical ecology. With her research, she strives to develop innovative modeling approaches that enhance marine conservation efforts and inform climate-resilient management strategies for marine mammal populations.
