Lucas Meza works to design and create new materials from the nanoscale up. He uses nanofabrication combined with digital design to make materials that are ultralight, ultrastrong and ultratough to solve problems in energy, medical devices and aerospace. Many of the materials he develops are bioinspired and take motivation from the unique material microstructures we observe in nature.
