ADAI Grants
The Alcohol & Drug Abuse Institute invites applications from University faculty for its Small Grants Research Awards. Proposed research must be in alcohol or drug abuse-related fields. The maximum amount considered for funding is $20,000. The next application deadline is 5 p.m., Oct. 15. Questions concerning the application process or suitability of a potential project should be directed to the Institute at 206-543-0937. Surplus Equipment Auction
Surplus property, equipment, and vehicles released by UW departments will be available for purchase by the general public Saturday, Aug. 10 at an oral auction. Bidding for general auction items will begin at 10 a.m.; bidding for vehicles will begin at 1 p.m. Previewing can be done Friday, Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. through 7 p.m. and from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. on the day of the sale. Previewing of vehicles can be done from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 9 and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the day of the sale.
All bidders must be registered before the bidding starts. Registration can be done during the preview hours. General auction items include computers, printers, and storage cabinets. Vehicles available include a 1985 Toyota pickup, 1994 Chevrolet Corsicas, and 1996 Dodge Neons. A complete catalog will be available at time of registration and will be available on the Surplus Web site. Furniture and equipment will also be available at the Surplus Property Public Store. The store will be open on Friday, Aug. 9 from 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and on Saturday, Aug. 10 from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Items available will include bicycles, computers, desks, file cabinets, and chairs.
The surplus warehouse is located below the University Police at 1117 N.E. Boat St. Free parking is available on the street on the day of the sale.
