UW gets top rankings among nation’s best graduate programs
The University of Washington is again ranked as the No. 1 primary care medical education program in the country and first for family medicine and rural medicine training, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2018 Best Graduate School rankings.
The UW has approximately 50 graduate programs among the nation’s top 10, including nursing, biostatistics and public affairs. Read more from UW Today.
Remembering Rep. Helen Sommers
Former Washington state Rep. Helen Sommers passed away Tuesday. Sommers, a UW alumna, served in the Washington House of Representatives for 36 years before retiring in 2009. Read President Cauce’s statement.
UW among top Peace Corps volunteering institutions
The University of Washington ranks No. 2 among large schools on the Peace Corps’ 2017 Top Volunteer-Producing Colleges and Universities list. There are 73 Huskies currently volunteering worldwide. Read more from UW Today.
Cascadia regional data partnership announced
The University of British Columbia and the University of Washington announced the establishment of the Cascadia Urban Analytics Cooperative. This industry-funded research partnership between UBC and the UW will use data to help cities and communities address challenges from traffic to homelessness and is made possible with a $1-million gift from Microsoft.
