Programs

Business Diversity Equity — Supports the University’s commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion by encouraging the UW community to consider small, local and diverse businesses when sourcing and purchasing goods and services.

Center for Communication, Difference and Equity – Strives to be a space where our community of students, faculty, staff, and alumni gather to promote greater equity.

Disabilities, Opportunities, Internetworking and Technology (DO-IT) — This center provides accessibility resources for students, faculty, and staff members.

Dream Project — This project partners UW students with first-generation and low-income high school students to help them achieve the dream of attending college while teaching UW students about important social issues.

Engineers Without Borders — Partnering with disadvantaged communities worldwide to improve quality of life by implementing environmentally sustainable, equitable and economical engineering projects while developing responsible engineers and engineering students.

Global Health & Justice Project — Promoting academics, research and service learning in global health, social justice and development.

Intergroup Dialogue, Education and Action Center — This center prepares Social Work students and supports University and community efforts to address issues of oppression, empowerment, and alliance building for social justice.

Making Connections — Increasing college enrollment and career exploration in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) fields for underrepresented youth.

Native American Law Center — The center seeks to promote a better understanding of Indian law and policy in order to facilitate legal and institutional improvements among tribal, state and federal governments.

PEERs — PEERs (Promoting Equity in Engineering Relationships) is a first-round, Innovation through Institutional Integration NSF grant awardee. They seek to improve the experiences of underrepresented undergraduate students in the College of Engineering, resulting in increased participation of women, minorities, and people with disabilities in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.
