Public Health Café is a series of informal, interactive conversations intended to raise awareness about public health issues. October public lectures examine American presidential races
Margaret O’Mara, associate professor of history, will explore crucial 20th Century American presidential races in a series of four public lectures starting October 9 in Kane Hall.
International Conservation Photography Awards at the Burke

From now until November 25, the Burke Museum is featuring the International Conservation Photography (ICP) Awards, 75 award-wining photographs from across the globe. The Burke is open daily from 10 am – 5 pm, except for the first Thursday of each month when it is open until 8 pm and admission is free.

UW alum gathers multiple honors for local farmers markets
The first Farmers Market in Seattle was organized by Chris Curtis (’73) in the University District in the early 1990s. Curtis went on to form the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance of seven food/farm markets throughout Seattle, some of which have been recognized by Forbes Magazine, the US News travel section, KOMO News, and Seattle Weekly.
