2025 Gratitude Report

Discovery, progress and innovation thrive at the University of Washington. We create a bountiful future for our students and the people of our state and the world through education, research, health care and service. This critical work is made possible by you — our remarkable community.

Your generosity comes at a defining moment for higher education. Now more than ever, our public mission calls for Washington state and the world to support students and the advancement of knowledge, for the benefit of lives everywhere. Private support — through both flexible funding and gifts that connect donor passions with particular areas of the University — empower the UW to provide an excellent and life-changing education for students while addressing society’s biggest challenges through research and innovation. Today and on behalf of generations to come, it is an investment in possibility and progress.

In fiscal year 2024–25, more than 174,000 donors generously contributed more than $863 million to the UW. These gifts and grants support thousands of students and faculty, and a wide range of programs, patient care and facilities.

Gifts of all sizes help undergraduate and graduate students gain valuable skills and experiences that prepare them for their future careers; enable research, education and artistic expression that make our communities safer, more sustainable and prosperous; and power medical discoveries and treatments that keep families healthy.

We are so grateful that your continued commitment to the UW makes a positive impact on the University’s people, programs and projects. You are proof that what you care about can change the world.
