The UW Office of the Chief Information Security Officer will conduct a seminar on information security and privacy to be followed with roundtable discussions for UW faculty, staff and researchers Feb. 16.
Because space is limited for the roundtable discussions, those interested in attending are asked RSVP by Thursday, Feb. 9, to Melissa Albin (malbin@uw.edu) and let her know which session you would like to attend.
"Protecting privacy and understanding how to secure information are interesting and challenging issues. Technology is changing at a rapid pace, laws and regulations are evolving and university policies are being developed or revised,” said Ann Walchuk Nagel, UW associate chief information security officer. “We’re hoping that colleagues who attend will come away with greater awareness of how to be good stewards of the information they access and use at work and in their private lives.”
The event will take place in the UW Tower auditorium, 2:30 to 4 p.m., starting with a 30-minute presentation on data privacy.
