Students from Dance Composition II will respond in movement to the exhibit The Lives They Left Behind: Suitcases from a State Hospital Attic, now on display in the lobby of the Odegaard Undergraduate Library. Their dances will be performed and discussed at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, in 267 Meany.
The students were asked to experience and research the exhibition, note its shared and universal concepts it addresses and develop those into movement concepts.
The event, hosted by the Dance Program, will consist of a short performance followed by a discussion. The exhibit will remain open in the library until March 15. Read a previous UW Today story about the exhibit. To learn more about the exhibit, visit online.
