Andersons class will be on orchestral exerpts often asked for on double bass auditions. The event is sponsored by the UW School of Music and Hammond Ashley Violins.
Anderson has been principal bass of the Seattle Symphony since 2000. He has a bachelor of music degree from the Curtis Institute of Music and has performed as soloist with Seattle Symphony, Seattle Chamber Orchestra, and the Cascade Symphony.
In November of 2006 Anderson was one of 13 soloists around the country to participate in the premiere of John Harbison’s Concerto for Bass Viol and Orchestra. He is also a regular participant with the Seattle Chamber Music Society and recently won first prize in the solo division of the David Walter Memorial Composition Competition.
