Women’s Vocal Jazz, Jazz I Ensemble to perform Dec. 8
The UW Women’s Vocal Jazz and Vocal Jazz I ensembles, directed by Dave Cross, will present a program at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8 in Brechmin Auditorium.
The Women’s Vocal Jazz group will choose from the following pieces: Time’s A’Wastin’, by Duke Ellington, Bu-Bop Bass, by David “Fathead” Newman, Blame It on My Youth/Please Walk Softly, by Heyman/Levant, J. Richards, I’ve Got a Great Idea, by Harry Connick, Jr., and PentUp House, by Clifford Brown.
The Vocal Jazz I group will choose from the following pieces: Turnaround, by Ornette Coleman; Carolyn Graye, lyrics; Come on Home, by Horace Silver, Before the Rain, by Barney McClure, You Shine a Little Light, by Anita Kerr, Oop-Pop-A-Dah, by Lee Brown, Lullaby on the Hudson, by Larry Goldings/Curtis Stigers, and Down by the Riverside (traditional).
